Te Paatu ki Kauhanga Trust Board trustees may from time to time appoint a Council of Pakeke on such terms of appointment, and subject to such rules and regulations, meeting procedures and processes, as may be prescribed by the trustees.

The Kāhui Kaumātua will be responsible for advising the Te Paatu ki Kauhanga Trust Board trustees on matters relating to the tikanga, reo, kawa, korero and whakapapa of Te Paatu ki Kauhanga hapū provided that nothing in the Trust Deed shall be deemed or construed so as to make the seeking or following of advice obtained from the Kahui Kaumātua as binding upon the trustees.
